Milan Veld

Milan has been interested in wines since he was a teenager and went to visit a winery in the Elzas. There was such a large and varied collection of fantastic wines that he was fascinated and this lead to him starting his own wine collection. Milan has completed a number of wine courses and is taking a course for the WSET Level 4 Diploma in wines and spirits at the moment.
He worked for a large international auction house for years which has given him valuable experience in the auction world. Milan enjoys red and white Bourgogne wines such as santenay and chassagne-montrachet, and also the old Bordeaux such as Château Giscours 1959. As far as whites go, he prefers the finesse and character of a good Riesling such as Grand Cru Hengst. Milan is managing director and one of the co-founders of Winefield's Auctioneers.

Doris Vroom

Doris got interested in fine wine at a youthful age, while spending her summer holidays in France' most beautiful wine areas. During her study International Business in Durham (UK) Doris wrote her bachelor thesis about the wine industry. During the research for this she got fascinated by the product and she decided that she aspired a career in the wine industry.

She attended a Wine & Cooking course in London, where she was able to receive the WSET foundation certificate in business. Back in the Netherlands she also completed the WSET Level 2 (intermediate) and WSET level 3 (advanced) courses. In January 2009 Doris started with the Diploma Course (WSET level 4), the most prestigious wine course in the Netherlands.

Her career at Winefield’s began when she spontaneously offered to assist Mark Savage MW at the tasting table. In addition, she arranged wine tastings throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. After she followed an internship at the beginning of 2008, Doris worked shortly at a wine importer. From August 2008 she is related to Winefield’s as a public relations consultant, teacher and wine auctioneer.

Patricia Verschelling

As a poor artist Patricia came accidentally across the phenomenon 'wine', which hasn’t her let go ever since. Whilest working as an account manager at a wine importer, she became a ‘viticulturist’ of the Wine Academy and also completed the International Advanced Certificate from the WSET successfully.

After completing her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht, she gained an extensive experience in the hospitality business in Amsterdam. What as an additional 'sideline job' began, has evolved into knowledge of wine and the joy of working full time with this fine product.

She has given several wine tastings for various groups and travels regularly to as many different wine regions as possible in the world. She learned the craft of winemaking in the Douro, Portugal.

Since the beginning of 2009 Patricia started working at Winefield's Auctioneers, where she assists in all the various tasks of the auction business.

Wine GuideHis range is about as original as they come. There are no concessions to fashion here, just a collection of wines that he has ferreted our in his four decades in the trade….we were never disappointed with anything we tried. So if you want ‘real’ wine rather than processed grape juice, just put yourself in the hands of a Savage'
