Cédric Bouchard, Celles-sur-Ource
In the year 2000, Cédric Bouchard established Roses de Jeanne in the village of Celles-sur-Ource in the Côte de Bar. Bouchard deviates from the established Champagne tradition of assemblage and blending and produces single vintage, variety and vineyard only. Vinified in Burgundy style with very low yields, Bouchard means to accentuate these characteristics. After the second fermentation in bottle, the wines do not undergo dosage before corking. Roses de Jeanne champagnes include Blanc de Noirs, Blanc de Blancs and Rosées, produced in extremely limited quantities.
Gevrey-Chambertin ‘Mes Cinq Terroirs’ 2013
Domaine Denis Mortet, Gevrey-Chambertin
‘Mes Cinq Terroirs’ refers to the five different lieu-dits located on northern slope ‘Côteau de Brochon of Gevrey-Chambertin. Charles Mortet founded the domaine in 1956, starting with only 1 hectare of vines. By 1992, when his son Denis took over the reins, the parcels consisted of 4.5 hectares. He and his wife Laurence started buying other vineyards from 1993 onwards. Today, Laurence and her children Arnaud and Clémence, own one hundred plots on 16 hectares spanning from Daix to Vougeot. The 2013 vintage was the first ‘Mes Cinq Terroirs’ blend. Previously, the wines from these plots were individually vinified.

Lucien le Moine, Beaune
A small and independent, well renowned négociant in Beaune, founded in 1999 by Lebanese Mounir Saouma and his friend Rotem Brakin. Lucien le Moine produces blancs and rouges from village up to grand cru level, with grapes from the best vineyards in Burgundy. The grape selection varies per annum as does the production, which never surpasses 300 barrels or approximately 30.000 bottles. The cellar is so small that some cuvées only produce a single barrel, meaning availability is only up to 300 bottles. The wines mature on 100% Jubilles forest new oak and are not blended, fined of filtered after barrel aging and before bottling.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Screaming Eagle, Napa Valley
America’s most expensive bottle of wine accumulated its cult status right from the beginning. Robert Parker rated its first 1992 vintage 99 points, only surpassed by 100 pointers 1997 and 2007. The winery markets the wines itself through an overbooked mailing list since the year 2000. Second Flight, the estate second wine, is made from younger vines. The sauvignon blanc cuvée emerged in 2012 and started out as relatively affordable, yet not before long ascended in price along with its name.
Barolo ‘Lazzarito’ 2014
Vietti, Castiglione Falletto
Although the 2014 Barolo vintage for Vietti was relatively complex, the ‘Lazzarito’ cuvée by Vietti proves considerable quality nonetheless. Now former owner Luca Currado rated the 2014 as one of his finest. This potent Nebbiolo was made from grapes from the MGA ‘Lazzarito’ vineyard, located in Serralunga d’Alba. The vines grow in an amphitheatre shaped parcel, facing south-west, capturing the sun’s heat during summers.
