Highlights SG37 Fine & Rare Wines Auction

The lots in this auction consists mainly, but not exclusively, of Bordeaux and Burgundy wines in the top segment. The Bordeaux segment contains a lot of investment wines such as Château Mouton Rothschild, Petrus, Château Palmer and Château Margaux. Many prestigious Burgundy producers are also well represented, such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leflaive and Domaine Leroy. In the highlights below other small-scaled wines from extraordinary vintners can be found.

Pouilly-Fumé ‘Paradoxe’ 2003
Domaine Didier Dagueneau, Saint-Andelain

This cuvée was produced from grapes grown in the same parcel as the one used to produce the ultra-famous Silex cuvée. These grapes, however, were harvested when very ripe. Tastings reveal a pale gold colour marked by beautiful aromatic qualities.

Saint-Joseph Blanc ‘Lieu Dit’ 2014
E. Guigal, Ampuis

This white Saint-Joseph is made from Marsanne and Roussanne grapes. Previous vintages were raised in new oak barrels but the winemaker changed its regime to 50/50 new and used barrels. Which makes the 2014 Cuvée impeccably balanced and layered.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘F601’ 2019
Domaine Saint Préfert - Isabel Ferrando, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

This is no ordinary Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it is a small-scaled production release of 100% Cinsault and comes from a single parcel planted in 1928: ‘F601’. The wine has many contradictable aspects, but it all works beautifully together.
