The Intermediate Wine Diploma provides a superb foundation for the novice wine drinker. On completion of the WSET Level 2 wine course, you will have a solid knowledge of the worldwide wine regions and grape varieties, as well as the basic knowledge of viticulture and winemaking.

In addition, extensive attention is paid to tasting the wine. A selection of excellent quality wines and the well-known technical tasting method of the WSET contribute to a very high tasting level among the trainees. The course concludes with an exam of 50 multiple choice questions, and upon successful completion, the award the WSET International Intermediate Wine Diploma.

Beginners with an affinity for wine. The group is small: no more than 16 participants per course. This is to guarantee the quality of the lessons

Exam
If you have completed the entire course, you are ready for the exam, which consists of 50 multiple choice questions. The exam is organized twice a year by Winefield's. Resits are unlimited (for a fee).
Tasting
At least 6 wines are tasted and assessed every class. Using the international WSET tasting method you get a good basis with which you can make a clear tasting note. Winefield's Auctioneers only uses quality wines
Hours of study
Every week there is a course meeting from 7 pm to 10 pm. In addition, you are expected to put in 2 study hours per week in advance.
Study package
Intermediate study pack including study book, workbook and test card. Sample glasses are available at the course location. In addition, the handouts for the course and sample lists are sent weekly.
Guarantee
The intermediate course is provided by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in London. This institute is the largest wine educator, with 40,000 students per year in 35 countries. After obtaining the diploma, it is possible to move on to the Advanced Wine diploma or the Dutch vinologist training.
